“Thanks to the generous gift from the Raising Smiles Charity, we were able to purchase a laptop for use by the Renal team at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. It has enabled a registrar within the renal team who is unable to work in the hospital, due to COVID-19 restrictions, to provide ‘virtual’ clinics. They were also able to organise investigations and prescribe medications. Families of patients who were concerned about their child’s condition were contacted and given the appropriate advice as the laptop enabled the doctor to access their medical treatment record.”
